William R. Coenen, III

Attorney

William (Will) R. Coenen, III is a 2001 graduate of LSU Law School and has practiced for 22 years in the areas of patent, copyright, and trademark law, environmental regulatory law, and environmental litigation. He previously practiced with the Kean Miller Law Firm from 2001-2005 in the areas of civil litigation, patent, copyright, and trademark law, and environmental regulatory law. He joined Talbot, Carmouche & Marcello in 2005, where he has focused exclusively on environmental litigation. 

Will has extensive experience in the handling of oilfield environmental litigation and environmental regulatory matters. He graduated summa cum laude with a degree in Environmental Engineering from North Carolina State University, and subsequently was employed by Fluor Daniel GTI, in Morrisville, North Carolina. His work for Fluor Daniel GTI included performing groundwater testing and monitoring groundwater remediation systems. Will has served as a Project Assistant for the Wetlands Project, which is funded by the National Science Foundation and Sea Grant College Program. 

He has served as treasurer of the LSU Environmental Law Society and is a former member of the Baton Rouge Technology Council, the LSBA Environmental Law Committee, and the LSU Law School Chancellor’s Council. Will has served as a guest speaker and lecturer on a wide variety of topics. He has testified before legislative committees reviewing proposed environmental legislation. He has also authored various papers and articles dealing with environmental, patent, and trademark issues, and has been a Registered Patent Attorney with the United States Patent and Trademark Office since 2002.
