Lawrence G. Gettys

Lawrence G. Gettys was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. After attending high school, he left the state to pursue a collegiate golfing opportunity at the University of Mississippi. While at Ole Miss, he received his bachelor’s degree with honors. He decided to return to his home state of Louisiana and attended law school where he was awarded his Juris Doctor degree, cum laude, from the Southern University Law Center.
While in law school, Lawrence served on the Moot Court Board where he won the Best Brief and Best Overall Advocate Team. Active in the legal community, Lawrence is a member of the American Association for Justice, the American Bar Association, the Baton Rouge Bar Association, the Louisiana Association for Justice, and the Texas Trial Lawyers Association. Lawrence is admitted to practice law by the State Bar of Louisiana (1995) and the State Bar of Texas (2001). He is also admitted in the Western, Middle, and Eastern Federal District Courts in Louisiana as well as the United States Fifth Circuit.
He is an accomplished trial attorney who manages cases throughout the State of Louisiana. His practice focuses on all types of injury cases, including automobile accidents, big truck accidents, asbestos exposure cases, as well as premises liability, product liability, and other toxic tort matters. He has represented thousands of clients with mesothelioma and other asbestos-related diseases across the state of Louisiana for over 27 years.
Lawrence has presented arguments on behalf of clients in hundreds of hearings in virtually every courtroom across the state. He has also tried numerous cases which have resulted in significant victories for his clients. He enjoys golf, tennis, and fishing, but his top priority is spending time with his four children.
