Fremin is being honored for his leadership in prosecuting violent crime, combating disaster-related fraud and advancing law enforcement coordination and training across Louisiana. His career reflects a deep commitment to public safety and the fair administration of justice.
Appointed in 2018 by the President of the United States, Fremin served as the chief federal law enforcement official for the Middle District of Louisiana. In that role, he oversaw all federal criminal prosecutions and civil litigation involving the United States, including cases related to national security, organized crime, healthcare fraud and crimes against vulnerable populations. Under his leadership, the office also prioritized partnerships with state and local law enforcement agencies to strengthen public safety efforts statewide.
Throughout his career, Fremin has held leadership roles at the local, state and federal levels, earning a reputation for integrity, sound judgment and results-driven leadership. He has spent thousands of hours in the courtroom handling complex and high-profile matters on behalf of both the State of Louisiana and the United States.
In addition to his legal career, Fremin is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, where he served as a Heavy Machine Gunner and achieved the rank of Sergeant. His military service included multiple leadership roles and commendations recognizing his performance and dedication.
A Louisiana native, Fremin earned a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, cum laude, from Southeastern Louisiana University. He later received both a Bachelor of Civil Law and Juris Doctor from the Paul M. Hebert Law Center at Louisiana State University.
Today, Fremin serves as Managing Director of Talbot, Carmouche & Marcello, where he helps guide the firm’s strategic direction while continuing to advise on complex litigation matters.
“Serving the people of Louisiana has been the greatest honor of my career,” said Fremin. “This recognition reflects the work of so many dedicated law enforcement officers, prosecutors, and public servants I’ve had the privilege to stand alongside. I’m grateful to be included among individuals who have committed their lives to protecting others and strengthening our communities.”
